Sutton railway group receiving their cheque towards funding A/V and IT equipment. The group meets monthly at St Clements church hall and welcomes members from the LN12 area. St Mary's Hall on George St is a well used hall providing many different Community groups with a place to meet. They have weekly coffee mornings and auctions. The CCC funded a new external fire door. St Peters Annex, Trusthorpe is a very busy, well used community hub.Village volunteers maintain and run the annex. The CCC were able to help with partial funding towards specialist maintenance. Mens shed is a exciting new project for the LN12 area. Aims are to help local men, promote health and well being, prevent loneliness, to share skills socialise and connect with the wider community from age 18+ The Bells & Whistles group at St Peter's Annexe Trusthorpe have been fundraising towards a new shed. The CCC has helped by match funding this project. Congratulations to all at The Annexe for the money raised so far. The CCC are pleased to have supported the BriJen Line Dancing group with a grant towards a new lightweight speaker. The group meet on a Wednesday afternoon at St Mary's Hall, George Street, Mablethorpe. Sutton on Sea Residents Association are the latest recipients of a CCC Community Chest grant for 500 towards The Furlongs Festival. The Furlongs Festival takes place tomorrow, Wednesday 23rd August.
The CCC also recently funded a Community Chest grant of 500 to the carnival committee towards the Carnival. The Mablethorpe &Sutton RAFA group are planning a concert in Mablethorpe next June to celebrate the centenary of the RAF. This local group were formed in 1937 and have approx 130 members.
The CCC are extremely happy to support this event with a 500 grant.
